Recognise this location?

Anyone here from Yorkshire? It's a long shot, but hoping someone may
be able to help me solve a frustrating puzzle please. Where was this
photo taken?

I know for sure it is in Yorkshire (but it's *not* in York). Yet after
hours of poring over maps and googling I'm about to give up. Must be
either a city or large town. And that sure looks like a copper-spired
church or similar in the background.
