Can you get a TV set that you can just buy and plug in and start watching
programmes on, without connecting it to the internet, and without needing
any verification or account opening or similar?

In other words can you

1) walk into a shop, get your money out, slap it on the counter and buy a
TV set

2) take it wherever you like, plug it in and watch programmes on it

3) not have to connect it to the internet or wirelessly to anything

4) not have to use an account, a password, etc.

?

Thanks in advance.

You do need a TV licence and you probably have to give your name and
address to the shop, otherwise there are no restrictions.
