I am purchasing a second Hand car next week and would like some advice on
the best method to complete the transaction. Bankers Drafts don't seem to
offer an advantages, difficult to pay cash these days (due to money
laundering laws). Shopuld I pay by cheque and get the seller to sign over V5
at that stage then pick keys up on clearance.

Any advice gratefully recieved.

Thanks in advance

What I do is use a debit card after arranging with the bank beforehand, that
is, telling them the date on which the money will be debited so that the
transaction is allowed. I have done this several times in recent years and
it has always worked without any problems.
