To whom should one address letters to companies requesting that they
remove one's personal details from their database(s)? I think the
person in question is called the Data Controller, but I am not sure.

By 'phone and letter I have repeatedly asked Virgin Media to stop
sending me there advertising material. I used to receive it once every
quarter, then once a month, now it is twice a week. If anyone knows the
_name_ (as well as the job title) and address of the appropriate person
to write to I'd like to be told it.

The MPS won't know VM keep sending you junk mail unless you report it to
them.
