UK advice line- insulation?

Hi,
As in header I got a call from these folks today suggesting loft insulation
using grants @ £199.00
or £175.00 if signed for on the day.
I searched Google for them but got nothing .
Just wondered if anyone had heard of them and if they were reasonable?
Left me an 08002982160 number so they seem ok.

I've never heard of them but I would automatically be suspicious of
cold callers. Ask around your neighbours for recommendations or pick
a small local firm IMHO.

Any sales company can have an 0800 number. Are you stupid enough to
take notice of cold calling sales people? If you make yourself a victim
people will soon get your details and start calling you.

You're right to be suspicious of them, both because they apparently called
you out of the blue & because of the 'money off' deal if you sign on the
day. That one alone would ensure that I would go elsewhere.

As someone ellse said, ask around among friends, work colleagues etc. for
personal recommendations. Alternatively phone your local Authority & see
whether they have a list of approved installers.

Thanks Joe.
I was suspicious of course and wondered if this organisation was well known
or not. It may be that because I was already considering insulation deals
that I entertained their phone call- - god knows why though as I never
entertain "cold" calls - - - just goes to show how easy it is to let your
guard down once in a while. Lesson learned :)
I shall now be enquiring with my local authority about their approved
installers.
