For some time I've been interested in one of those fire blankets you keep
next to the oven. Saw a 1 metre x 1 metre FB being demoed on bid.tv for
£4.99p but was shocked to see (in very small print) they charged £7.99p for
P&P PLUS an additional charge of £1.53p for the phone call! Thus making a
total cost of £14.51p

Not all the shopping channels charge these rates, in fact some charge £3.99p
with a free call or a call at BT rates. Channel hopping, I noticed that Bid,
Price Drop and Speed Auction also charge £1.53, and £7.99p.

I was still interested in the fire blanket and found the identical model (to
British Standard EN 1869 : 1997) on Amazon and on EBay, new for £4.99p
including free P&P. To deter you from 'shopping around' the salesman/woman
will proclaim "limited stock, buy now". Don't fall for it, don't pay these
rip-off prices.

I never buy anything from any of the shopping channels, but I like watching
them because they don't get interrupted with adverts .....
