Jenolite rust treatment seems to have disappeared from the shelves of all
the places that used to sell it!

An internet search revealed that the original manufacturer was sold out and
all the indications are that it should be available again.

The local hardware store keeper tells me its available again but under a new
brand name, but he didn't know what it was.

Anyone know the new brand name? Alternatively any similar product might do,
Jenolite contains phosphoric acid which converts rust to a phosphate
compound - any product on the market using this method might even be
Jenolite under its new alias.

TIA.

You might wish to inform their sales droid of that - what brand name is it
under?

You might like to either look on their website or go in to the shop and look
around. It's very easy to find on the shelf. Sales people probably can't
be bothered with you by the sound of it.

Since I already know that Halfords sales droids don't know they sell such a
product, it doesn't take a huge leap of imagination to guess that I've
already gone into the shop and had a look around, I examined several rust
converter products they had on the shelves - none of which had any relevant
info on the packaging. The sales droid had never heard of Jenolite even
though a number of people have assured me Halfords used to sell it.

OK, then what about eBay?

Every item listed is Jenolite "rust remover" - not apparently the phosphoric
acid rust converter that converts rust to a phosphate compound.

Regarding the eBay sellers' adverts for Jenolite Rust Remover, if you click
on 'View larger picture' you will se that every item is labelled Jenolite
Rust Treatment. According to Jenolite's web site this is the phosphoric
acid-based rust convertor. To quote: "Jenolite is an acid based product that
removes the rust. It does not have a built in primer. " See
http://www.jenolite.com/shopping_cart_jenolite_automotive.htm. The Jenolite
Rust Treatment on the Jenolite website looks identical to the Jenolite items
advertised on eBay, which the sellers describe as Jenolite Rust Remover.

You asked where you could obtain Jenolite Rust Treatment. The answer is
eBay, although the sellers wrongly describe it as Jenolite Rust Remover.

Meanwhile I've found a similar product at an independent motor factors at
£13/litre - if Jenolite CBA getting their product into the shops then the
loss of sales is noones fault but their own.

The Jenolite Brand is owned by Cedesa Ltd, having produced it for 20 years
for companies that previously owned it such as Bluecol Brands, Pennzoil
Quaker State and latterly Shell. We purchased the barnd for ourselves as the
brand had been largely ignored by those that had acwuired it in the last
decade and sales had dropped to nothing. Their are now distributors in the
martketplace. If you are struggling for supply please contact us on 01462
