Here is one for yall, so, why is it that so many commercials never mention
in audio what they are actually advertising. Not only are they not going to
get blind people to buy their goods but also all those busy people who buzz
around the house leaving the telly on to follow the action either.
And surely Ofcom plugging product placement need to be sure to make some
announcement on the audio channel to let the blind know as well as a stupid
logo?

Some of the ads are a bit ambiguous to sighted people too!

Even some of the unambiguous ads make little or no impression - I've
forgotten what the product was in seconds flat.

Many ads that do make it clear what they're selling leave me so irritated I
become determined not to contribute in any way shape or form.

And there's always the underlying feeling that I'd rather buy from
manufacturers who invest in giving the highest value for money than hugely
expensive TV ads.

Yes, I do agree, but rather strangely, a recent campaign, I understand from
Nokia, featured a blind photographer, but never did actually say what the
advert was for in the audio. How mad is that? I only found out when the guy
who was featured on it came on a programme to talk about why he did
photography when he was blind. Very interesting bloke actually, but big kick
to Nokia for missing the obvious.

Their PC monitors are crap - when I used to repair monitors for a living I
had to refuse to take theirs in.

They're also increasingly desperate to claw back rapidly diminishing phone
market.

Is it any wonder they're losing the plot.

Actually I think the idiot of the year award goes to the latest windows
mobile operating system. It has no access hooks, so nobody can make a
screenreader for it.
