Not sure if this is the totally right place but I just want to serve
an updated warning about buying from svp.co.uk

It's been over a month since I made a large order with them. They took
payment immediately. No emails or acknowledgements. Nothing apart from
the website notice and details in my account. Almost a month later I
still had nothing. So I tried to contact them. This is only possible
through their support page for some reason rather than a contact us
page. I then see on that page they had raised a support ticket saying
they could not complete the order as some items were unavailable, what
should they do!!
I complained they had not notified me by normal channels such as an
email, or detail in my account, rather than a daft support page which
I only visited by chance! And why they were taking payment for items
they never had! Then not letting me know anyway! I cancelled the
order.

They wrote and said they would pay the CC refund that day. They
didn't. It took a further complaint before they finally coughed up.

It would appear they have now been taken over by someone else,
probably aliens, who clearly don't have a clue! So watch out.

Makes you wonder just how long they would have kept my money if I had
not queried it :(

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I then went to www.totalblankmedia.com better price and an awesome
online service. Most impressive comms. Even the courier DPD keeps you
updated via email and a specific time slot. Great, they'll be here
between 12:30 and 13:30. Only the never arrived. Got an email at 13:00
saying sorry you were out when we tried to deliver!!! Impossible to
contact them and they ignored emails. Complained to Totalblank media
and said if the idiots don't deliver today I want the order cancelled.
Totalblank were brilliant, tried for hours to get hold of DPD
http://www.dpd.co.uk/ and finally gave up once they knew it was too
late to deliver. Refunded straight away and it was a shame to lose
them.

DPD used to be the equally useless ParcelLine and Google has almost as
many complaints about them as ParcelFace!

Finally ordered from www.Discworlduk.co.uk
on Thursday (good price again) who sent email confirmations and
advised it had been posted. 2 days later postie knocks and the stuff
has arrived.

Are you related to Nick Le Lievre, by any chance?

Thanks for the heads up.

In future, consider Infiniti media from ebuyer.

Not sure if this is the totally right place
uk.comp.vendors is the proper place to go, it's very quiet these days
which either means that UK computer vendors are generally pretty good
or nobody much bothers with the group.
