What is fairtrade? I don't even know how to spell it: Fairtrade, Fair
Trade? I suspect that it's a marketing ploy invented by the big
wholesalers and retailers, but I hope to be convinced otherwise.

Going forward at this moment in time a raft of measures
has been put in place on the ground to target and
claw back the growth of cliche usage 24/7.

I have bought a couple of Fairtrade items coffee and tea both crap
wouldn't serve either to my worst enemy quality of it told me I should
only have paid half the price that I did for them .
Isn't buying this stuff supposed to be helping people in the country
where it is grown and isn't the UK government and indirectly us giving
these countries thousands of pounds in foreign aid each year plus
providing them with housing and benefits when any of them decide to
invade this country also .

Thanks for the link. It looks like a badge for companies to wear to
make their employees and customers feel good, i.e. something of no real
value like Investors in People or ISO 9000.

We don't have fairtrade in this country as we have a benefits system
to prop up poorly paid workers and farmers.
We are in effect subsidising companies and governemts in other
countries to allow them to continue as they do.

It's not them making the obscene profits, it's the supermarkets and
buyers who take the raw product and turn it into something we buy.
