Post by C. U. JimmyPost by BlahPost by Frederick WilliamsIn the kind of shop where customers are expected to pick up they item
they wish to buy and take it to an assistant at a till, is it the case
that either items must be marked with their price, or that the
shelf/stand/etc that they are one must be marked with their price?
I went to a shop like that and NOTHING was marked!
Last time I shop at Poundland....
hahahahaha
In Dollarama: The laugh was on me!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First time I'd been in a store called 'Dollarama". I had been looking
for one called "As advertised on TV" but overpriced and often useless
it had apparently gone out of business! I hadn't been in the shopping
malls for over a year since last time i went to the dental office
there!
In Dollarama very few items seemed to be marked with a price; except
where there was the occasional sign such as "Two for a dollar" or even
"Three packages for one dollar etc.".
So I asked one of the ladies restocking the shelves. "Oh" she said.
"It's a dollar store! Everything is one dollar unless marked
otherwise!".
Well bless me; that's better than the 'Buck or two' store. Not one to
normally buy on impulse I spent about 5 bucks (Canadian) on several
(well five actually!) and came home with four small spring clamps (for
one dollar), some instant glue, a package of pens and other house-
useful items. Not bought but think for example there were two mouse
traps for one dollar.
I think they even allowed use of my bank debit card without any
additional charge for doing so. And only once before have run into
situation where any store here would charge an extra 25 or even 50
cents to use a debit, but not credit, card. In that case i happened to
have $5 in wallet, unusual these days, where most transactions are
electronic.
BTW 5 dollars = about two quid sixty (2.60) at current rate of
exchange. Plus our obligatory reduced from 15 to 13% (federal and
provincial governments combined) sales tax of 65 cents. Bless em!
